Black Bellied Tree Duck (Dendrocygna autumnalis)

Native to Central and South America, the genders of this breed are sexually non-dimorphic.  The male and female average about 2 pounds.  The hen is a cavity nester that will also lay her eggs on the ground amid small brush.  She lays 12-16 buffy white eggs that hatch into bright little yellow and black ducklings.
