Cape Teal (Anas capensis)

Native to tropical Africa, the drakes look similar to the hens.  Drakes weigh 14-15 ounces and the hens weigh 13-13 1/2 ounces.  The hen lays 6-11 deep cream to pale cream eggs.  She prefers to nest in a ground box among thick vegetation.
