European Wigeon (Anas penelope)

This breed ranges from northern Europe and Asia to northern Africa.  Sexually dimorphic, seasonally variable.  Drakes weigh 2.2 pounds, while hens are smaller at 1.8 pounds.  The hen lays 10-14 creamy-white, buff eggs.  She prefers nesting on the ground, in dense tall grass or other vegetation.
