Goldeneye (Bucephala clangula)
Native to North America, with close relatives also in Europe and Asia. Sexually dimorphic, seasonally variable, males are generally larger than the females. The hen will lay from 8-11 clear, pale blue-green or gray-green eggs with a blunt oval shape. This breed takes readily to raised nest boxes and will nest in cavities above water and in burrows next to water.
