Mandarin Duck (Aix galericulata)

Native to eastern Asia, this breed is sexually dimorphic, seasonably variable.  The drake weighs 1.4 pounds and the hen slightly smaller at 1.1 pounds.  The hen lays 9-15 pure white oval eggs, and prefers raised nest boxes or hollowed tree cavities above water.
